A wholly indigenous Nigerian company established to provide vessel charter and operations support services, marine logistics support services and maritime consultancy services to the various operators in the Nigerian and West African energy and maritime sectors. The Company's head office is located in Lagos while its operational base is located in Warri, Delta State. They now require a Financial Controller for their Lagos Office
Key Responsibilities
· Reports to the Managing Director
· Overall responsibility for finance and accounting issues of the company
· Very broad based with hands on involvement in all transaction processing and quarterly reporting and year end accounting
· To continually look for improvements in processes and in the quality of management information
· Champion the development of company’s strategy, its translation into financial and business plans and projections and performance monitoring and reporting.
· Maintain a standard accounting system to deliver financial performance reports in line with the company’s IFRS requirements and meeting set deadlines.
· Provide leadership to the company’s finance function personnel.
· Scan the company’s socio-political, economic and financial environment regularly and drive the company’s financial risk management initiatives
· Oversee the formulation and implementation of strategies to ensure effective management and utilization of the company’s IT infrastructure.
· Manage relationships with external bodies, Tax and regulatory authorities and other stakeholders to ensure a fair and positive outlook for the company.
Key Requirements
The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications:
· B.Sc Accounting/H N D Accountancy.
· Recognized professional accounting qualification (ACA, ICMA, ACCA, CPA etc).
3-5 years post qualification working experience in a reputable manufacturing, FMCG or a process driven company.
· Must have experience working with: SAGE Line 500 and SAP (ERPS) or a related financial software package
Annual Remuneration
· 3.5m – 4.5m
